1 because I love to keep memories.. ask my husband, i'm a bit of a memory hoarder. ever since i was little, i've been "memory freezing"..aka trying to remember every single detail about a situation and capturing it in time so that one day, i can return to that memory and enjoy everything about it. i have a memory page in my journal for every member of my family, all about things i've remembered about them through the years. including signature scent (like my dads latex dental gloves, or my mom's calvin klein 'obsession' perfume) weird?. oh well..those are precious memories to me.
2 I don't ever want what i do, what i wear, where i live to define me. I want my relationship with Jesus to be what makes me transparent. I want to be able to share my life, write little snippets about what goes on in my heart, my head and my surroundings but for people to know- ultimately- i am trying to live this life for Jesus, these are just things that happen to me along the way.
3 i know i will fail at life- i let Jesus down daily, so if you're reading this please know that if you're expecting to read about perfect...turn back now. i don't ever want people to read this blog and interpret it as me trying to make much of myself..really and truly- i'm not.know that i strive to portray whatever i write with humility..because really, i'm just a nothing trying to be a something for Jesus.
4 this is a great exercise for me..Laura.. to be transparent and not care what people think of me.(something i've always struggled with).
5 (because even numbers are sly) i want to preserve these days as best as i can.. i want to capture my life and have something to look back on and read, share with my family, friends, my grandkids..something to compare my growth to & to share my tiny life lessons.
Few tiny things about me:
I love my family. it's big. i have an incredible husband. 2 precious sisters, 3 amazing brothers, the best mom, the best dad, a family dog. 2 awesome in laws 3 sweet sister-in-laws, 4 great brother-in-laws. 2 cute nephews. 5 adorable nieces. and a handful..as in 4 or 5..of the most incredible best friends that anyone could ask for.
i love to be active.
i love random crafts.
i love to cook.
i'm in the army. i'm a brand new nurse so don't ask me about your weird rashes or dysfunctional toe..i really don't know what to say or how to help you..i'll just make something up..like...coat it in butter and put a cool cloth on it.
my dream is to be one of those incredible nurses that you remember having in the hospital. the one who was efficient, cheery, sweet, funny, super hard working, confident, and knew what she was doing, not pretended to know & most of all one who fights for your best interest. i realize that being a health care professional is a huge responsibility. being a nurse is a privilege that you have to earn. i know it's not going to be easy. but i feel honored that i have this chance to care for hurting people.
